Ahh...I live in Leeds, but work in London - however thanks to National Express East Coast, I'm able to leave home at a normal time, work on the train with the free wifi (yes free...you don't pay for it) and arrive in the office having done 2 and half hours work.

Mind you the internet's not very fast on a busy train, but I'm not complaining for a free service.

Osaka-Tokyo has one high-speed train leaving every ten minutes or so. Less trafficked lines and off-peak times has the rate drop to once every twenty minutes. Don't even need to "catch the train" - just show up at the station and take the next one up.

Ah, yes, European trains...multiple train options per day, outlets, tables...

American trains:
One train on each route per day. Maybe. Sometimes fewer than that. If I want to go to the city where my parents live, my only option is a train at 4:30pm. Coming back, my only option is a train at 5:45am. Power? One pair of outlets...per car. Wifi? What? We don't even get cell phone reception! But yes, the legroom is great.
